Guerra al Punto Blanco / War to ICH

Cierto es, que a la vuelta de las vacaciones no he tenido ninguna baja, pero al ver que se rascaban mucho y acercarme un poco mas a ellos he visto unas manchas blancas muy pequeñas que al ver en varios ejemplares me comenzaron a preocupar… Mis sospechas se centran en el Punto Blanco, una enfermedad ocasionada por un protozoo ciliado hijo de puta llamado Ichthyophthirius multifilis.
Hay varios peces afectados, y parece afectar por especies… los Pseudotropheus Acei están tocados, aunque los más graves son los Cyrtocaras Moori que la trajeron; también hay algún Hongi y creo que los Flavus también… habrá que ver cómo va todo.
He comenzado el tratamiento con SpeciPez ICH, siguiendo el tratamiento recomendado de 10 días alternos. Ya os contaré qué tal va todo… con el alma en vilo, cruzo los dedos.

Estos días se han ido del acuario unos peces, para ir al acuario de un conocido, y aprovechando ese momento otros se han unido… concretamente, unas hembras jóvenes de chipokae y una pareja de mooris.
This days some fishes have left the main tank, for going to another friend’s acuarium, and taking advantage of this other have arrived… some young females of chipokae and a couple of moori.

Mi regalo de aniversario ha sido una gran sorpresa, y 5 incorporaciones al acuario: Una pareja de Matriaclima Callainos y 3 Pseudotropheus Elongatus Chewere, todos jovencitos y deseo, con un largo futuro a mi lado.

Mi present in our 3 year aniversary has been a great surprise, and 5 new joiners in the acuarium: a couple of Matriaclima Callainos and three Pseudotropheus Elongatus Chewere, all very young and I hope with a great future beside me.

Monográfico Big Mac (Maylandia Msobo Magunga male)

Uno de los tesoros de mi acuario es este macho de Maylandia Msobo Magunga, un pez al que le tengo especial cariño pues me lo dió una forera legendaria como es Isabel (Maylandia). De los 4 alevines que me dió de Msobo Magunga, ese ha sido el único macho, y tiene 3 hembritas (las 3 marías) a las que pronto empezará a fertilizar. De aquel naranja que ha dejado atrás a su metamorfosis que lo ha convertido en un ejemplar precioso.
Siempre dinámico, el otro día se detuvo posando cual modelo para que pudiera hacerle un montón de fotos…

One of the treasures of my acuarium is this male of Maylandia Msobo Magunga, a fish that is specially apreciated by me as it was a present by a legendary person from my favorite forum. From the 4 young fries that she gave, this has been the only male, and the other 3 have become a group of females called “the 3 marias”, as they are difficult to distinguish. He was also orange when he was young, and he began this amazing metamorfose that made him look like that.
As he is always moving is complex to take pictures… but the other day he possed like a model, and I could took this pictures…

El Chipokae enfadado (Angry Chipokae)

Ayer, el macho de Chipokae empezó a hacer unos movimientos muy extraños… me preocupé pensando que podría pasarle algo, pero tras un rato observándolo me dí cuenta de que tan solo lo hacia en un lugar del acuario y plantándole cara a un jersey que estaba colocado en una silla…
Sigo sin saber muy bien qué pasaba por su diminuta cabeza para hacer esos movimientos… pero aquí os dejo un extracto de lo que pude grabar… si queréis ver la continuación está aquí.

Sigo disfrutando de estas maravillosas criaturas cuyo origen está en un lago africano, intentando cuidarlos lo mejor posible y viendo a los alevines creciendo poco a poco y venciendo el duro desafío de iniciar una vida, donde solo sobrevive el más fuerte…

I keep enjoying those wonderful creatures with origin in a big African lake, trying to take care of them as best as possible and seeing fries growing day by day as they beat life’s fight where only the strongest can survive…

Una de las últimas incorporaciones a mis 2 acuarios son unos alevines fabulosos de esta curiosa especie, un regalo de un tio estupendo de los que habitan este mundillo. Realmente son unos alevines muy pequeños, pero según vayan creciendo irán pareciéndose a los hermanos mayores de su especie…
One of the latest aditions to my 2 acuariums are some wonderful fries of this curious specie, an amazing present from another cool guy that I’ve found in this world. They are really young, but as soon as they begin to grow up they’ll look like their brothers…
